Liberty Caribbean Message
With Hurricane Melissa landfall in Jamaica, our foremost concern remains the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
Our local team, supported by regional operations, is fully mobilized under our established Local Crisis Management Team (LCMT) protocols to ensure preparedness and swift response.
We recognize that this situation may raise concerns about potential service disruptions or short-term business impacts across the Liberty Caribbean footprint. Please rest assured that we are acting decisively to protect our people, our infrastructure, and the continuity of our operations.
Over the past several days, we have:
• Activated regional redundancy and resilience measures, ensuring mobile, fixed voice, data, and international traffic can be rerouted through alternate paths if needed.
• Pre-positioned emergency teams and equipment at key sites to enable swift restoration once conditions are safe.
• Tested all critical backup power and switching systems, including generators, batteries, and network failover protocols.
• Coordinated closely with government agencies and utilities to ensure restoration access and fuel logistics as needed.
While some localized service interruptions may occur due to power outages or infrastructure damage due to the severity of the storm, we are confident that our redundancy and preparedness measures will help limit the duration and extent of any disruptions.
As a key corporate customer, please note that our real-time services reside in our Curaçao Data Center, which is not expected to be affected by the storm. We have also prepared alternative routes to reroute traffic connectivity and ensure continuity of our call center and support systems as necessary.
We will continue to communicate transparently throughout this period, providing updates as appropriate.
Our focus remains on safeguarding our teams in Jamaica, maintaining service continuity wherever possible, and restoring full operations quickly and safely once conditions allow.
Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the people of Jamaica as they face the impact of Hurricane Melissa. Our hearts are with them during the days ahead.
