Currently, Panama is number one in Latin America in the use of smartphones and according to ECLAC, pays less for Internet use. As for this year, Panama wants to reach 1500 free Internet access points to achieve 90% coverage of the population. In June 2014, Balboas will invest 500 million for connectivity in the area. (

The Government of Panama has been using cloud computing since 2011, and is expletory as  drivers of rapid adoption of cloud technologies in Central America. In the first initiative of its kind in Latin America, Panama invested US$ 200,000 in a platform used to consolidate public accounting services and other critical applications, saving government institutions operating costs and hardware maintenance.
