The Dominican Republic is planning to take a major step with the Software Promotion Law, providing incentives to software development firms that set up inside the country and offering tax incentives and facilitating the entry of more Dominican PyMEs (small and medium-sized businesses) to quality for certification. Programs are underway in the Dominican Republic to encourage women and girls to explore ICT and to close the digital gender gap through training, awareness raising and initiatives that involve girls and women in entrepreneurial ICT activities.
